About Us
Welcome to the Bible Baptist Church
We exist to bring people into a growing relationship with Jesus and with one another.
Our Mission
At Bible Baptist Church, our mission is to glorify God by proclaiming the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and nurturing faithful followers through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, and loving fellowship.
Our Vision
Our vision is to continue being “a Lighthouse” in a world of darkness, shining the light of Jesus Christ through faithful service, spiritual growth, and compassionate outreach—until Jesus, the Light of the world, returns for His Church.
Who Are We?
Bible Baptist Church is a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church committed to sharing God’s Word without compromise. Founded on a deep conviction to seek the lost and stand firmly on Scripture, our church family welcomes people from all walks of life who desire to grow in faith and truth.
From our humble beginnings in 1976, God has faithfully guided our journey, shaping us into a caring and committed church community focused on spiritual growth, service, and outreach—both locally and around the world.
Our Story
Bible Baptist Church was birthed on November 30th, 1976, in the home of Brother and Sister Alberto Richardson, in the presence of a small group of devoted believers. That evening, twenty-nine believers signed the church charter, united by a shared vision to establish a Bible-believing Baptist church grounded in God’s Word.
Our first pastor, Reverend Allinson DaCosta, a graduate of Bluewater Bible College, served faithfully until 1979, laying a strong biblical foundation. He now serves as Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Nevis.
From 1979 to 1981, Brother Lamar Palmer, a missionary from the United States, led the church as pastor and continues to remain an integral part of our church family.
On May 1st, 1981, Dr. James Young was elected Pastor of Bible Baptist Church. Dr. Young studied Philosophy and earned his Bachelor of Biblical Ministry, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Divinity from Prophets Bible School and Seminary. By the grace of God, he has faithfully served as Senior Pastor for over three decades, guiding the church with steadfast leadership and a deep commitment to Scripture.
Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances,
discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings; faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and use of, destructive drugs, or intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to shun pornography; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but
always, ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
