During one of the most difficult times in my life, I heard Jesus say, “Be still. Hold on tight to the pole.” In a vision, I was surrounded by strong winds and felt I could no longer hold on. But each time I wanted to let go, God gave me renewed strength until the storm finally passed.

Through this experience, God strengthened my faith and taught me to be still, trust Him, and allow Him to take control. When life feels hopeless, hold on—God will give you the strength to make it through.

“What a friend we have in Jesus—all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. I believe when the Lord called me, He aligned the right people to help me on my journey to Him. I first met Pastor Young many years ago at my brother-in-law’s funeral, and he made a heartfelt sermon to lay him to rest. I was humbled, so I asked Pastor where the church he preaches at was located, and he told me Arch Road by the cement company. I told him one day I would visit because I was touched not only by his sermon but also by the fact that when I had called and asked him to do the funeral for my brother-in-law, he said yes right away—even though he had never seen or spoken to us a day in our lives before I called. I was awed at his generosity. But I never did visit as I said I would. A year or two later, I met Sister Sonia, and she invited me to church for the anniversary service. I went, and it was a great service. I ran into Pastor Young again and had the opportunity to listen to his teachings and learn about the Lord. I have been going to Bible Baptist Church ever since. This is where I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and learned all about salvation. The congregation—my brothers and sisters in Christ—has always treated me with such warmth, love, and care. I have never felt judged or looked down on. I have always had the opportunity to learn about the Lord in a warm and caring environment at Bible Baptist, and I am so very grateful and happy to be a member. To God be the glory—great things He has done and continues to do on our journey to Him.”

“To God be the glory—great things He has done! On November 4th, 2023, I made the best decision of my life by accepting JESUS as my Lord and Savior. My aim is to continue serving the Lord. I continue to pray for my family, that they will accept CHRIST as their personal Savior before it’s too late. I thank God for my ‘Bible Baptist Congregational’ family and also my Pastor, James Young. “My testimony: I am very grateful for the Lord’s blessings daily in my life. Without Him, I don’t know where I would be today. He has been very good to me. I rededicated my life to Him on July 2nd, 2011, at BBC. The ladies there have always been very encouraging. I always enjoy the fellowship we have with others and the godly lives they live daily.
